On 12th March 2025, COSIA, in collaboration with MSME DFO Mumbai and Thane Small Scale Industries Association (TSSIA), hosted an insightful workshop on the MSME Competitive Lean Scheme at TSSIA House, Thane. The session brought together industry experts and MSMEs eager to enhance their competitiveness through Lean methodologies.
The MSME Lean Competitive Scheme is a flagship initiative by the Ministry of MSME, designed to improve efficiency, reduce costs, optimize resources, and introduce Industry 4.0-driven solutions. The scheme enables businesses to minimize rejection rates, improve product quality, enhance export capabilities, and create a culture of innovation and sustainability.
The event saw the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Milind Barapatre (Jt. Director, MSME DFO Mumbai), Mr. Sunil Khujnare (Dy. Director, MSME DFO Mumbai), Mr. Vijay Joshi (VP, COSIA), Mr. Nipun Mehta (Hon. Jt. Secretary, COSIA), and Mr. Denver Annunciation (EC Member, TSSIA).
A deep dive into Lean tools and techniques was conducted by Dr. Dinesh Kishti, an expert in Lean Management and Managing Director of M/s. Chaita Consultancy, Nashik. With years of experience in developing Lean clusters under MSME schemes, Dr. Kishti provided practical insights on how small businesses can streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
The workshop saw an enthusiastic participation of 60 MSMEs, all keen on adopting Lean practices to scale their businesses effectively.
