Successful Conclusion of the Two-Day “Technical Exhibition cum Competition” Organized by DVET

The Directorate of Vocational Education & Training (DVET), Mumbai, successfully hosted the District Level “Technical Exhibition cum Competition” on 7th and 8th January 2025. This exciting event was held at the Ahmad Abdullah Garib Private ITI, Mumbra, and brought together aspiring students from both Government and private Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Thane District.

The event was graciously inaugurated on Day 1 by Mrs. Sujata Soparkar, Immediate Past President of TSSIA, who served as the Chief Guest. The guest of honour for the occasion was Mr. Nipun Mehta, Hon. Jt. Secretary of COSIA. The exhibition provided a unique platform for 31 innovative student projects, highlighting the technical skills and creativity of young minds.

The event featured a wide variety of projects, each showcasing innovation and practical technical solutions. The projects were judged on technical innovation and presentation, with an esteemed panel of judges from various industries:

  • Mr. Purushottam Agwan – Partner at R.K Dutt Concerns and VP of COSIA
  • Mr. Nipun Mehta – Director at Sphere Engineers Pvt. Ltd. and Hon. Gen. Secretary of COSIA
  • Mr. Adnan Ahmed Khan – Co-Founder and Director (Sales & Marketing) at Scientomac Process Equipment Pvt. Ltd.
  • Mr. Suyash Kulkarni – Director at Ashida Electronics Pvt. Ltd.

After careful evaluation, the winners were announced:

  1. 1st Prize: Government Industrial Training Institute, Shahapur for their project “15 in one product.”
  2. 2nd Prize: Ahmad Abdullah Garib Private ITI, Mumbra for their project “Dual Cannon MBT Vijay Prototype (best out of waste).”
  3. 3rd Prize: Government Industrial Training Institute, Wagle Estate, Thane for their project “Accident Detector and SMS Alert System.”

Additionally, a special recognition was given to the students who had created the Winners’ Trophies, acknowledging their hard work and creative contributions. Volunteers who played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s success were also felicitated for their dedication.

The event successfully fostered innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence among ITI students, showcasing the tremendous potential of vocational training in India. COSIA is proud to have supported such a remarkable initiative along with TSSIA and DICCI that highlights the importance of skill development and technical education for the future of our workforce.
