As part of the National Safety Week celebrations, COSIA (Chamber of Small Industry Associations), in collaboration with the Thane Small Scale Industries Association (TSSIA), Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Thane, and Fortis Hospital, successfully hosted a training session focused on First-Aid, Occupational Safety, Health, Fire Safety, and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment).
Held on 4th March 2025 at TSSIA House, Wagle Estate, Thane, the event brought together employees, workers, and managers from various industries to deepen their understanding of workplace safety and well-being. This training program aimed at equipping participants with the essential skills and knowledge needed to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
The event was graced by Mr. Vilas Ghogare, Joint Director of Industrial Safety and Health, Govt. of Maharashtra, who delivered the keynote address and administered the Safety Oath to all participants, reinforcing the importance of safety in all workplace environments. Mr. Shivajirao Gaware – Sr. PI of Wagle Estate Police Station was the guest of Honor.
Our expert speakers included:
- Dr. Manjeet Singh Arora, a distinguished Occupational Health Specialist and Corporate Trainer, who guided the attendees on First-Aid and CPR techniques, ensuring they were prepared for emergency medical situations.
- Mr. Hemant Khadse, Managing Director of FLS Engineering Consultants Pvt. Ltd., who shared invaluable insights into fire safety and emergency preparedness.
- Mrs. Ketaki Londhe, a certified POSH trainer and Founder of Protouch Services Pvt. Ltd., who provided practical knowledge on preventing sexual harassment in the workplace and fostering a respectful and inclusive work culture.
The training session successfully addressed key aspects of workplace safety, including emergency medical response, occupational health management, fire prevention, and maintaining a harassment-free work environment. Also present were Mr. Dharmu Vanjani – VP COSIA, Mr. Ninad Jaywant – Hon. Gen. Secretary COSIA, Mr. Bhavesh Maru – Hon. Gen. Secretary TSSIA and Mr. Sunil Kulkarni – VP TSSIA.
